Be a Mentor, help science at SCES

Picture
Each year fith graders perform scientific experiments and present their results at the Science Fair/Expo.  We are looking for parents to help mentor a two-student team for one or more half-hour sessions.  Mentoring is much like helping kids through a school assignment and doesn't require knowledge of scientific facts.  The science teacher is on hand to help if needed.  To sign up, click here.

Bring in Extras!

Picture
We are calling on families to bring in extra supplies and snacks for our school community.  Many families have difficulty meeting these needs for economic, or other reasons.  Any donations you can contribute are always appreciated, and will be accepted throughout the year.

˜ Our school counselor, Mrs. Heatwole, has placed a call for extra school supplies.  If you have extra supplies of erasers, composition books, pencils, glue, crayons, pencil cases, folders, and backpacks, or any other item on this year's school supply list, please send them in a bag to the main office, to be put in Ms. Heatwole's mailbox.  If your child needs any supplies, please send in a note to Ms. Heatwole's attention and she will give your child what she has.

˜ If possible, please donate 25 or so snacks to cover days when kindergarten children cannot bring snack in. Non-perishable snacks can be brought in at any time.  If you have extra fresh fruit or healthy treats on your assigned snack day, that is also wonderful and welcomed.  Please bring them in a bag labled "EXTRA KINDERGARTEN SNACK" to Ms. Poness for distribution (Room 101). You can leave them on the table outside her door if she is not in.
